A beautiful waterfall in Coedydd Aber National Nature Reserve in North Wales
After going to Aber Falls Distillery, the next thing on my list was the actual Aber Falls which is a 25-minute walk from the distillery, or a short (7-minute) drive.
The road towards the parking spaces is not too bad, but, even as we went there quite early in the morning, it was very busy and took us quite a while to find a parking spot.
Parking costs £5 for the full day, and, at the time of our visit (August 2024) you could pay either cash or by card.
You will find toilets in the car park but expect to find a queue for them and don't expect them to be in the best condition, considering how many people visit Aber Falls on any given day.
From the car park, we followed the signs and trail (and everyone else) to the waterfall - not too much planning was needed to be honest. Although the car park was full, it wasn't overwhelmingly busy.
Although you will see a lot of parents with pushchairs, and it's quite an easy walk, I would still recommend wearing appropriate footwear for a little hike, especially if you want to venture around.
Any pictures I've taken honestly do not do this beautiful waterfall any justice.
The whole visit there took around two and a half hours, as we walked at a very relaxed pace and stopped to take quite a few pictures. We probably could have walked there and back in an hour and a half but the views were too good to rush through everything.
If you cross the river and walk a bit further down, leaving Aber Falls behind, you will see a second waterfall (see below), not as big, but beautiful nonetheless. You can't get as close to this one as with the previous one, and it's considerably less busy - we were the only ones there for a good 10-15 minutes.
Have you ever been there? If so, I would love to hear about your visit there, in the comment section below.
