Time for another dram!
A medium-body Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
A bit about
Located in the Grampian Mountains, in Dalwhinnie village, Dalwhinnie Distillery was founded in 1898 and is one of Scotland's highest distilleries, at 352 m (1154 feet) above sea level.
Dalwhinnie 15 has 43%ABV and is one of Diageo's Classic Malts, along with Lagavulin 16.
Time to try it
Dalwhinnie 15
Nose: Very pleasant, floral and slightly sweet with honey tones
Taste: Delightful on the palate, smooth, with a lot of fruitiness, vanilla and caramel
Finish: Medium, slightly spicy and oaky
Pros and Cons
Priced at around £50, it's a smooth and generally a very pleasant whisky to drink.
If you're looking for a gentle type of whisky, this is a good match for you, if you're looking for something smoky or with a lot of depth, there are others better suited for that such as the Ledaig 10 or GlenAllachie 10.
In Conclusion
Dalwhinnie 15 is in my humble opinion a good dram to sample with a few subtle but very interesting notes to offer, particularly suitable for the warmer months of the year.
As always, please drink responsibly.
