Tate Modern opened in May 2000, on the site of the former Bankside Power Station. The galleries are divided into the Natalie Bell Building and the Blavatnik Building, with The Tanks (Level 0) - mainly used for live performances, film and video work.

On Level 1 you will find a cafe & bar and the shop. Levels 2, 3 and 4 have both Collection Displays and exhibitions.

On my most recent visit, I had the pleasure of seeing some interesting paintings from artists such as Picasso, Henry Matisse, Amadeo Modigliani, Paul Cezanne, René Magritte, Natalia Goncharova and Agnes Martin, just to name a few.

London has a multitude of fabulous places to explore, and for me, Tate Modern made it to the list of' must-see when in London'.

Depending on how much you want to explore, you might want to set aside anything between two to four hours to see all the displays.

If you want to get a bit of fresh air and take a little break from all the artwork, the balcony on the 3rd level gives you that possibility along with a nice view of Saint Paul's Cathedral and the Thames.

Have you ever been there? If so, I would love to hear about your visit there, in the comment section below.
