Time for another Dram!
A peach-flavoured American Whiskey, great in cocktails.
Fireside Peach Flavored Whiskey
A bit about
It has 40% ABV and it's described as a Palisade peach-flavoured 'not-too-sweet bourbon'.
It is produced and bottled by Mile High Spirits in Denver, Colorado, using Fireside Bourbon and cut with Rocky Mountain water.
Fireside Bourbon is distilled in a copper still using grains and corn grown in Colorado with the barrels being aged for at least two years.
Time to try it
Nose: an abundance of ripe peaches and vanilla, overall very sweet.
Taste: Super fruity and pleasantly sweet without being too overpowering. I expected it to be sweeter based on the smell, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Finish: Medium with a slightly bitter aftertaste.
Pros and cons
It has worked wonders in any cocktail I have tried so far with it - Old-fashioned, Manhattan, Whiskey Sour, Peach & Mint Julep and even a Boulevardier.
In small measures, it's quite nice served neat or with a couple of ice cubes, but I prefer it in cocktails.
In conclusion
Priced at around $30, I think it's a nice drink to have, especially if you're a fan of bourbon or whisky-based cocktails.
If you're a fan of Scottish Whiskies, especially peatier ones, then this might not be the drink for you.
