Experimental Series # 02
Time for another dram!
Glenfiddich Project XX Experimental Series # 02
A well-rounded Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky with a delicious aroma.
A bit about
Glenfiddich was founded in 1887 by William Grant and is still a family-owned and run distillery. The name means (or derives from) Valley of the Deer in Gaelic, which explains their chosen logo - a stag
The experiment - 20 whiskey experts from 16 countries were invited by Brian Kingsman, Glenfiddich's Master Blender, to select a cask from the warehouse. The chosen casks were then married to create this particular whisky - hence the name Project XX (20)
Time to try it
Glenfiddich Project XX Experimental Series # 02
Nose: Super fragrant with a lot of sweet fresh berries, pear and toffee
Taste: Very much on the sweet side, with a lot of toffee/fudge and cinnamon, very smooth
Finish: Long with a lot of coffee, slightly spicy, and a lot of oakiness especially towards the very end.
Pros and Cons
It smells like a dessert, and it tastes absolutely delicious in my humble opinion.
As a side note, I'm pretty sure sherry cask whiskies were used in the making of this one, considering all the sweetness and aromas.
The only downside I can see - if you're generally not a fan of sweeter whiskies this one might be a bit too much for your taste.

In conclusion
Priced at around £45-50 on most UK websites, I think it's highly worth the price.
It's a beautiful whisky to sip whether neat, with ice or a few drops of water.
