Time for another dram!
A light and fruity Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
A bit about
Produced by Ian Macleod Distilleries, the Glengoyne 10 has won quite a few awards so far -
Gold at The Scotch Whisky Masters (The Spirits Business) in 2020, Gold at the International Spirits Challenge in 2020 and Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2020.
Matured in American and European oak ex-sherry casks, the Glengoyne 10 has 40% ABV and a light golden colour.
Time to try it!
Nose: Fruity (green apples), lightly nutty, sweet and creamy
Taste: Orange and lime zest, fresh apple slice, almonds, easy on the palate
Finish: Long, sweet with a bit of malt/barley
The Glengoyne is quite a light, not overly sweet and easy-to-drink whisky.
Pros and Cons
It has a light-medium body with a bit of richness
No trace of peat can be detected (not surprising since completely unpeated malt has been used to produce it).
I prefer this with a few drops of cold water which brings out more of the nuttiness and a bit of soft oak flavours.
For some whisky drinkers, the Glengoyne 10 might be a bit too light, lacking a more complex flavour profile.

In conclusion
Glengoyne 10 is a nice, light, easy-to-drink whisky, enjoyable neat, and even better with a drop of ice cold water
