A delightful Korean alcoholic drink.

Soju, a distilled alcoholic beverage traditionally made from rice, has been around since the 13th century.
Launched in 1924, JINRO Soju is South Korea's most popular alcoholic drink and the world's best-selling spirit.
You can find soju either in its original taste - Chamisul Fresh (16% ABV) and Chamisul Original (20.1 ABV) or with added flavours such as Green Grape, Grapefruit, Strawberry, Plum or Peach.
I've been a fan of Soju for quite some time now, but after my trip to South Korea, it's become more of a staple in my house when it comes to alcoholic drinks which aren't Whisky or Sake.

Soju is usually enjoyed straight (as a shot) or combined with beer (somaek) and is usually served chilled.
The one I usually go back to is the plum one, which has 13% ABV.
It's smooth, flavorful and all-around delicious. It smells fresh and fruity, and whether you try the flavoured soju or the original version, it has a pleasant, although short, aftertaste. Considering how easily it goes down, you might finish the bottle quicker than expected.
So far, any flavour of JINRO Soju I've tried has paired amazingly with any meal, be it Korean Asian-inspired or otherwise.
In the UK, you can find the green, 350 ml bottle with the iconic green frog logo for around £12, on most websites.
If you want to try a soju with a slightly higher ABV, you might want to try this one.

As always, please drink responsibly.
